Admissions

Here’s what you’ll need to apply to the UMES M.S. in Cybersecurity Engineering Technology:

  • Completed application, available online here.
  • Undergraduate transcript. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in the U.S. with a minimum 3.0 GPA, or proof of equivalent training at a foreign university, is required.
    • A bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field is preferred, but applications from prospective students with bachelor’s degrees in non-technical fields may be considered for admission.
  • Current resume indicating professional work experience, accomplishments, and skills.
  • Three letters of recommendation from employers or superiors who can attest to your talents, professional skills, work accomplishments, and qualifications for the M.S. in Cybersecurity Engineering Technology.
  • Statement of Purpose. A brief statement about your reasons for applying to this program, your professional goals, and any particular areas of research interest.
  • GRE Optional. GRE scores are now optional when applying; you are not required to provide them. Your application will be reviewed when it is received along with all required materials, and you will be informed of our decision.

International Students

International applicants are required to provide original transcripts evaluated by WES (World Evaluation Services), a certificate of finance of at least $30,000, and passing TOEFL or IELTS scores for applicants whose first language is not English.
